Our Story
Meet Jess (she/her), the highly intuitive, wild woman archetype who has dreamed of making art since she was little. In the beginning, many people told Little Jessica what art ought to look like, the rules that must be followed, and the living that couldn't be earned. Until eventually, she tucked away a dream and replaced it with others' nonfiction. But stories grow tired of no one listening, and soon, Jess began to notice. At first it was a ring, and then a handwritten note. Soon more heirlooms of her Grandma's. A pair of checkered slippers and a troll with an uncanny resemblance. They all told a story and finally, Jess began to listen. She gathered all her big crow energy, collected the shiny things, and made a nest to hold their meaning. Though her story is far from over, Jess is, at long last, exactly where she's meant to be, writing artful stories for others in radiant visible light.
Jess brings over a decade of experience in education and storytelling. She's learned stories from students of all ages, those who didn't speak her language, and those who came before her. She's learned that the meaning of a story can trace back across generations or be claimed like a spark in a moment. The paths we cross are all threads, every one woven into this authentic, handmade life.
